Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts
''Video''
I parked my car in the parking lot of my college. I dont have a parking permit so my car was towed, so when i got my car back i parked it in the visitor section of the parking lot. Once again my car was towed, so I went to the campus police and asked them why it was and they didnt give me a straight answer so I got a video camera and went in to the parking lot. I made a video of all the cars in the parking lot without parking permits to show the campus police that my car was singled out. The police found out about the video I made and told me they have a video of me in the parking lot vandalizing cars which is a lie. Then the campus police told me that unless I handed over my video that they would press charges against me,and when I asked to see the tape they claim to have of me vandalizing cars they wouldn't let me see it. I obviously gave them the tape to avoid any legal problems. My question is, with my tape of all the cars illegally parked in the parking lot am i subject to some type of reimbursment for the towing fees considering my car was singled out, and is there any legal action I can take against them for lying about me vandalizing cars and refusing to show me just to get my video tape of the illegally parked cars.

Re: ''Video''
first you should have kept a copy of the tape;
second, selective attention & inattention are discretionary for the most part;
third, a wrong by another does not justify a wrong by you; and
finally, you should report them to an administrator of the school.
