if i am wanted in massachusetts will/can they have NYC police look for me at my brother's apartment in new york

Maybe not, depends on the charge(s).
But if you get stopped by the police or arrested, you may be held.
Depends on the circumstances. You would be well advised, no matter what, to retain counsel and voluntarily turn yourself in asap if there is a warrant. This would likely be rewarded by the da in the resolution. This WILL eventually need to be addressed, WHEN you are stopped for something (probably unrelated) when you are late for your best friend's wedding, etc... Waiting and leaving this out there will only delay the inevitable and compound its negative impact on your life. I think you should deal with it and move on.
