Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts
I know a young adult that was stopped by the police in his vehicle, for alleged Marijuana possession. Why did they take his cell phone?
They also gave him a summons to court. He was not arrested.
He is 26 years old. In Massachusetts.

The likely reason they took his cell phone is to trace calls to hopefully find a call to the person he bought the MJ from or to see if there is evidence he was selling MJ to others,
He should retain an attorney ASAP and speak to no one but his attorney about this.
