Is there any action that can be legally taken against someone for defamation or slander? Someone that continues to speaks lies against ones character?

You have the option of filing a complaint in the Superior Court seeking injunctive relief (an order that the person cease engaging in defamatory speech) and money damages for financial harm and harm to your reputation. These are difficult cases, and you should probably consult with an attorney before taking this on.
