Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Massachusetts
I got hired to work at a small diner, On wednesday, my boss texted me my schedule would be to work thurs-sun. I came in on Thursday and did everything I was asked to. The cook, which is my friend, said something about me being part african american. The owner glanced at me and said "really? you're black?" and I replied "yes I am part black, my dad is white and my mom is half black and half white". And he replied "oh because if you were all black that would be just gross, I would expect you to be sitting down over on the bench watching us do all the work while you do nothing." I laughed it off because I did not want to start a problem in the work place. Meanwhile, a female upbeat girl walked in and asked for an application. The owner told her to come in and start Sunday. The owner left shortly after and then texted me stating how he is letting me go because I am not fit for the job. I work at a country club also and have to serve twice as many demanding customers while doing side work as well and got compliments to my face from the customers of which I served. I feel I was let go because the owner did not like the fact that I was black and especially since he let me go via text. When I informed him that I felt this is discrimination and would be reporting this, he immediately responded telling me "if I want the job that bad I can have it"
Is there a possible lawsuit in this situation?

Yes, there may be a possible discrimination claim, and I take these cases on contingency (meaning I only get paid if I get you some money) if the case is at the Mass.
