Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Massachusetts

No lawyer

If a person cannot procure a lawyer for a civil litigation case, is there any way to bring the case into court? This particular one is a discrimination/sexual harassment/gay-related matter involving a city job. Wrongful termination.

Re: No lawyer

If you are set against not hiring an attorney, you are permitted to represent yourself "pro se" in court. There is no requirement that you hire an attorney.

In that case, you should start by going to the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (they have a very helpful website).

Depending entirely on the facts of your case, an attorney may take your case on a contingency-fee basis. Please feel free to contact me if you would like further assistance.
