Legal Question in DUI Law in Massachusetts
My daughter has a restriced license in MA do to a DUI that only allows her to drive from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. How can we change the hours to a different 12 hour period and what is likely to happen to her if she is pulled over driving at a time not during the restricted hours? Thank you.

To change the 12 hour period she would have to petition whomever set it at 7AM to 7PM (i.e. the Judge, Probation Dept. or the Registry of Motor vehicles)
If caught driving outside the currently allowed hours she could face a new charge of operating after suspension for an alcohol related offense which may carry a jail sentence if convicted.
Retain an attorney to assist with this. Good Luck!
The RMV is the source to change her hours and if she is caught driving outside of her allowed hours she will be charged with Operating After License Suspended for Alcohol, which carries a mandatory 60 days of jail time. Since the license is only valid for certain hours, driving outside of those hours is the same as if she had no hardhsip license at all. Do NOT get caught driving outside of the allowed hours or jail time will ensue.
