Legal Question in DUI Law in Massachusetts

I had a dui 26 years ago. paid my fine and did my classes. Had a 2nd dui 15 years later, paid fine and did classes. Now I have a 3rd dui which was treated as a 1st dui in court I paid the fine and I am enrolled in classes as a 1st offender. Now the rmv has taken my license for 8 years???
