Legal Question in Education Law in Massachusetts

student rights

a paper was put in my sons file at his middle school. This was called a behavorial contract that the school itself made up. My son was forced to sign this without my knowledge. He did not agree with the terms of this contract. I would like to know how I go about removing this form from his folder. It was also put into 4 other students folders and I also want my sons name removed from there contract also

You do have a right to challenge the content of your child's educational records. There is a federal law "FERPA" (Federal Educational Records Protection Act) that covers these issues.

There are sites on the internet that explain FERPA and the proceedures you must follow.
