Legal Question in Elder Law in Massachusetts
Abandoned Property
My mother passed away a year ago April.
Recently, I have discovered she has approximately $3,000 in abandoned property with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She had qualified for Mass Health during the last year of her life based on her known assets at the time.
Now that this $3,000 has been discovered, if I try and claim it, would there be any issues with Mass Health?

Yes, Mass Health would have a claim against her estate and the $3,000.00
