Legal Question in Elder Law in Massachusetts
deed with a retained life estate
A deed was drawn up, but the first name was typed as Phillip when my son's legal name is Phil. Is this okay or should I have the lawyer correct it?

It may not make the deed defective, but it could cause problems later. You should probably file a corrective deed. Don't hesitate to contact my office should you like to discuss this matter further. I charge a simple flat-fee for matters of this type.
