Legal Question in Elder Law in Massachusetts
My disabled elderly mother lives with my brother, he has started abusing her and now she wants him removed from her house. She is not able to get to court to get a restraining order. Can you offer any advice?

I am very sorry for your situation. You or your mother can call the police if the abuse continues or if it becomes life threatening. You can also contact the local senior services agency where your mother lives and speak with the protective services investigator. He or she can visit with your mother to assess the situation and decide what steps should be taken.
I note that you are in East Boston. If your mother is also in Boston, you can start by contacting Central Boston Elder Services at (617) 292-6211. I certainly wish you luck -
