Legal Question in Elder Law in Massachusetts
Durable POA, Health Care Proxy
If a parent appoints their child as as DPOA or HCP, does the attorney notify the child of that? What about executor of will? I do not speak to my other sibling (she is very devious) and do not want ''Co-'' anything with her. How do I make my wishes known? My parents are very secretive and will not tell me what they have set up. I fear they have made me ''co-'' something with her and it will not work out. I know who their attorney is. Will he tell me if I ask?

Re: Durable POA, Health Care Proxy
The Attorney will not tell you about the Will. He may tell you if you are named under the DPOZ or health Proxy, but if you are not named, he will not tell you who is,
You can speak to the attorney about your concerns, but it could backfire and your sister could wind up in control of everything.
