You've not posted enough information to answer the question. By the term "home," do you mean a nursing home or an assisted living facility? Was your name was put on the deed; and, if that gift was less than five years ago, have you lived with your mother for a long enough period of time and provided her with the assistance needed to qualify as a "caregiver child" under the MassHealth long-term care rules?

MassHealth has been increasingly picky about reviewing expenses which are shared between parents and children. Thus, it would be in both your and your mother's interest to meet with an experienced elder law attorney BEFORE applying for benefits. Do NOT let the nursing home pressure you into applying for benefits before you know your rights!
