Re: nursing home rights
Under federal law, a nursing home patient has the right to choose his or her treating physician. That physician is supposed to direct the course of care.
Have you spoken with the physician and withh nursing home's director of nursing or medical director? Have you put your concerns in writing and demanded that they be put in the patient's file? If you have and are not satisfied with the result, you may want contact the ombudsman assigned to the nursing home -- the name and number should be prominently displayed at the facility. If you have the funds, you may wish to hire a private geriatric care manager to review the records and advise you.
