How do you tell if someone {private individual} is legitamate in running a motorcycle ride & Bar-B-Que along with collecting donations for charity - Diabetes Association?

How do you know all the money raised going to the charity?

How do you find out if it's not a fake or front using a charity for personal gain?

You can check with the State Attorney's general's office has them registered as a fundraising organization or sanctioned group. you can also check with the charity itself.
