Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

help, help, help

I have a 17 year old daughter, and she will be 18 on Oct, 3. She has been misbehaving and braking the rules at home, since she got involved with her boyfriend. She hasn't been going to school and I was going to put a chins on her, but they found out that she has to be under 16 in Mass. I am worried for her safty and I don't know what to do. I was thinking about emancipating her, but now I hear that it takes up to six months to a year for it to go though. I don't have that much time and I don't know what I can do as a single mom?

Unfortunately, you may have to tell her, "Live in my house, follow these rules." And enforce the consequence: "Move out if you don't agree." There isn't much else you can do.

It may be too late to do anything.

What you may need is to consult a mental health person.

Seek someone with leverage.
