Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Im a 22 year old mother with a 4 year old daughter in witch i am not with her father any more . I have taken him to court once to try to get child support , but was told i could not get any child support due to the fact that my daughters father is on disablity. I was wondering if there is any way possiable i can get child support from him or would it be worth it to keep going back to court to try to get child support? sense i had my daughter her father has another child whom he does not pay for and has worked under the table jobs.

Your daughter may be entitled to support as a dependent of someone on disability from the social security administration. I would contact them and find out. The child's father can be compelled to cooperate with the application if needed.

Good Luck.

Hello,

If the Father is collecting disability than your daughter should be receiving benefits as well. You will first need a court order establishing Paternity if you were never married to him.

I agree with the statements above. Allow me to outline one plan in is easy steps:

1. Show that your husband is the father

2. File paperwork with the people who are giving disability to your husband

3. Collect support money for your daughter

My guess is you were asking for the wrong kind of support.

If you need assistance, feel free to call. You will not be charged any money for the first call.
