25 years married
I ve been married to my husband sence 1978 79 My husband had a child out of wedlock he had drug problems which I couldnt handle . He left the home to live with many woman . had another child with same woman But all the time calling me saying he love s me wants me back . this goes on for many years . I had to live in hotels with my child . And paid thousands of dallers trying to get my life back . In 1995 I wass in a work related accident .which has left me on social security. I use my madian name because I feared for my life from him he stalked me for many years. now I hear he want a divorce so he can start a business He would never give me a divorce before I felt when we married we married for life . do I have any right to things he promised me ...Anunity money accumulated while we were married . which should go to my future .. not his woman who he's had children out of wed lock he didnt support me while I was bringing up his child . Am I intitled to anything ??? he ownes a home a boat a couple of vicicels. Now he want to cash in everything and start his own bussiness.....

How long you were married is only one of the things a court will look at to determine what, if anything, you may be entitled to in a divorce. The fact that you have been living apart for a long period of time does not help, nor does the fact that you did not go after him for child support or alimony for so long (you did not say how long you have been separated). And you imply that you actively tried to hide your location from him, although you say it was because he was "stalking" you. Chances are, most of the assets he has accumulated since you parted will not be counted in assessing your share of his wealth. A good lawyer might get you more than if you represent yourself, and that lawyer will need a lot more detail and evidence to assess your case.
It sounds like your child is now an adult and may no longer be entitled to child support, but again, you will need to discuss this in detail with an attorney.
