Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

My 13 years old son lives with his father in Brighton, MA

I live in Israel since August 2009.

Me and my ex-husband have shared legal custody and he has physical custody of our son.

This summer my son will travel to visit me in Israel.

Question: Do I need to provide a notarized permission for him to leave the US?
