Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

13 yr. old child wants out

My soon to be 13 yr.old child for the last 4 years has expressed a strong desire to live with me (his father). He expresses the desire based on concrete reasons such as religion, education, better life and the fact his mother ignores him. He had an attorney that supposed to represent him and for over a year that attorney heard him describe his life at the mother's house. He did nothing. He stopped talking to my son some 5 months before the trial and respresented that not only did the son not want to live with me, he wanted to see me less!!

Since then my son sent him a letter basically telling him that he was biased and only did what he wanted to do NOT what my son wanted.

Is there anything I can do to help my son. By the way I work as a staff person for a excellent school district and have all the time off that teachers have off.. My ex has not held a full time job in over 15 years and refuses to work . My son is embarssed at that too that his mother stays home and collects unemployment and can't find a job.
