If this is a Massachusetts case, you simply obtain the facts that show that the father's home is not at all a suitable place for a 14-year-old girl. However, the courts are sensitive to the "two-foot rule." That's the unwritten rule that a kid who runs away with her own two feet is a kid who may be better off in the less stable home, at lest for the moment.
You may need to ask the court for a GAL investigation.
You should obtain legal representation, as these are often tough battles.
