Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

a19 year old alleged divorce debt

I was divorced 19 yrs ago in Mass and my ex wife is chasing me for more money. As part of divorce settlement I was to split a bank deposit of about $10,000. Quite frankly after 19 yrs I

\ really dont remember, but Im sure I fullfilled the terms of the divorce. #1 Isnt she responsible to have brought this up in a timely manner- not 19 yrs later. #2 Is there a statue of limitations that would apply

THANK YOU

Re: a19 year old alleged divorce debt

You should review the Final Judgment and the Marital Settlement Agreement if you had an Agreement. If you have complied with the Final Judgment and the Agreement then you are not in contempt and she can chase you until she is blue in the face. If you have not complied then she may try and file an action for contempt.
