Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts
Abuse, 16 yo
My girlfriend is currently being abused by her mother. She is 16 years old and is living at home in constant fear. Not only does she yell and verbally intimidate her but abuses her physically. In the past she has stomped on her daughters foot so hard a toe was broken and never looked at. Her mother has grabbed her arm and punched her so hard her arm was bruised and swollen. Her mother was laughing when she had back into an oven and burned her leg badly. And tonight her mother had hit her in the head so hard she fell back and is afraid she might have a concussion. The only people who know are me and the school only is aware of when her arm was swollen. She has also been reported for self harm and being suicidal multiple times. She is afraid no one will take her seriously because of that and she has no real evidence. She also fears if she goes back home after reporting ehr mother and her mother knows then she will be hurt again and more severely and everything she contacts people with will be taken away. What could happen if she reports her mother to her school tomorrow?
