Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

adopt a friend as a sibling...

My friend Krystal and I have been best friends since the 1st grade. We are both in our 20's now... because she is so close to me and my family, is there any law allowing us to make her a part of our family by adopting her as a sister?? I need a direct answer!!

Any adult can adopt another adult with the consent of the adoptee. This creates the same legal relationships as "blood."
