Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Can an adoptee sue the state for placement in an unsuitable home?

I was adopted out by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 1962 into a severely abusive home - as was my adopted brother. We survived that experience and have wondered if we have a legal recourse to sue the Commonwealth for placement in that home. The abuse we suffered is well documented and remembered by the neighbours - some of whom are still alive and by our classmates. The adoptive parents are deceased and we have both found our biological parents. We would be curious to know. Thank you

You might very well have suit. A fascinating one!

Would be of great interest to the community of

parents who are saying that their children have

been wrongfully removed from the home by such

entities as DSS (Dept of Social Services) or

CPS (Child Protective Services) -- depending on

the state.

Good luck.
