Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Need your advice

Male, 29 years old, first marriage, married 15 months. We have no kids, little savings together and live in a house in my name only which was bought by proceeds from another property I owned before our marriage. I make a great income 185K per year. My wife does not work. Would I have to pay alimony to her, How much? Also would I live in the house during the divorce process because it is in my name? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Need your advice

the court would evaluate all the facts of the case in making a decision. You likely would not have to pay alimony, for long, if at all in a final decision, but you may have to pay temporary alimony until the case is resolved. The court would also decide who lived in the house on a temporary basis until the court made its decision. Furthermore, your wife may be entitled to a portion of the appreciation of the house since you were married. I'm sure there are other facts that may affect the judge's ruling.
