Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Agreement Modification Judgement of Divorce Decree

Two yrs ago, my ex was allotted 50% of my state retirement. He lost it when he remarried due to the option his lawyer chose. He took me back to court and won it back under another option because it was an asset.

Now he wants to sign it back over to me. He said he only took it because he was retaliating and he just wants to move on with his life and let me move on with mine. Will the Judge agree and what steps do I take next? Neither of us want a lawyer involved. AND..the QDRO has been filed.. Thank you

Re: Agreement Modification Judgement of Divorce Decree

What you really mean is you don't want to pay a lawyer, since by asking this question here you clearly want a lawyer involved.

Probably the simplest thing is for your ex to file a motion to vacate the QDRO and mark it up for a hearing. You will both have to go so the judge knows it is a joint decision.
