alamony

i was orderd to pay alamony to my ex wife and i have ben unemployed cause of an injury for a year now and i still cant go back to work or make enough income to pay this and let me live and my ex wife is 46 refuses to get a job cause she has no work experance and the judge bought this crap and there is no children involved they are all grown and this is a big mess and i cant pay a lawyer and back alamony is around 7 thousend and what i want to know is can i go to jail for this it is not deliberate

If you are on disability and it is legitamate it is highly unlikely the court will hae you jailed. However, you should make a motion to have your alimony modified due to change in circumstances. Likewise, unless your wife is disabled, she should at least be required to look for work.

You might want to contact Boston legal services or the Boston Bar Association or the Massachusetts Bar Association for legal assistance. The associations have discounted legal services for persons who otherwise cannot afford an attorney.

You should go to court right away and file for a modification of the alimony payment. You can file this modification is there is no open case, and if there is an open case, then file a motion to change this.
