A woman has lived with man for 20 years in his home. She gave him her paycheck every week and he gave her some spending money. He paid for cars, vacations, food, all the bills. They broke up. Does she have to sue him to get anything back for the 20 years of contributing to the household? Is there any law in Mass. that will help her now. She has no retirement or savings. He was very controlling. There are no children involved.

You have said nothing about if the woman was married.

Without more information, the situation cannot be examined.

Assuming they were not married, it is then a question of what promises were made, and if the promises were enforceable. There may be other options.
