Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

i asked my sons farther to take son until i got on my feet and he called d.s.s and they gave him temporary custody of my son. then he filed for custody and never showed up to courte and the case was dissmissed . does that mean i still have soul custody of my son? if so what do i do to get him home with me?

With the information that you provided in your question, it sounds as though your son's father may still have custody of your son under the temporary custody order. That order should state when if any follow up hearings there are.

Also, it would be necessary to know whether you have any previous court orders with regards to custody of your son. If you currently do not have custody of your son, you would need to file a Complaint for Modification to modify the current custody order. Unfortunately with the limited amount of information in your question, it is difficult for me to answer your question.
