Birth Certificate Correction
Mr. Roth was more compassionate and understanding and there was no anger towards him and he was honest and focused on me and my needs. It is not about the parent but about the child and there comes a time as now when we kids are now adults and we can ''not'' be forced any longer. I thank the first attorney for responding and focusing on the child (now adult) and not on the father. It is not about the parent it is about us the children. No one can force an adult to have a bond or any sort of relationship for our entire life. It is called free will that God has given and no man can take away. Child support and visitations are not the same and one does not give you a right to another. I make my ''own'' choices now and as for college it is called FAFSA. So I can change my name?

My apologies for misreading your tone.
Again, yes, you can change your name through a simple petition. However, changing the birth record, as you originally asked, seems more complicated to me, given the information provided in your posts.

You can change your name with a simple Petition as Mr. Gregory stated. He is also correct in stating that changing your birth record is more complicated.
As to FAFSA, your legal parents are your legal parents and names do not matter.
