Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts
Calling the police
Sunday night i called the police because the man im trying to leave was verbably abusive. Last night i came home and was on the phone with a work mate. During that time my now ex called the cops on me!
Before i left for work i said either we agree to this costody arrangment (i get kid m, t, w, t) he gets him (f,--name removed----name removed-- or well go to probabte and do this in court, he called the cops saying im threatenting him and i keep threatening him. can this be used against me in court? Hes the one trying to manipulate the situation, hes trying to make it so i never see my son again he keeps telling me if i ever see my kid its supervised visitations.
byw im low income, i make 800$ a month, how much is it to hire a lawyer to help my case? there is more to this whole drama and i would like a good attourney.

Re: Calling the police
You have not said if you were arrested.
There are 2 methods to be in court:
1. Clerk's hearing where the clerk listens to the evidence and decides if a complaint should issue. A typical charge can vary between $500-$1500.
2. If a complaint is filed against you, then the court will determine your ability to pay. The court can appoint an attorney.
