Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Change of Custody

My 15 1/2 yr old daughter has been living w/her dad & step(mother)/siblings for 4 yrs. The stepmother has been verbally abusing her for 1.5 yrs or more. Child now wants to come back home. Judge says she is not old enough to decide. GAL is going to be appt'd, charged to me. What are the chances she will come home and if not now, when is she legally able to move back home on her own? She is their maid and Cinderella & they will not allow her to willingly leave & she is miserable and very sad. The judge needs to know this, but didn't seem to want to listen. She has no extracurricular activities, while stepsister of same age does everything and has a job.

Re: Change of Custody

I believe that this situation (or one very much like it) has been addressed several times in the last week. You need to comply with the judge's order, pay the GAL as ordered, cooperate with the investigation, and hope that both the GAL and ultimately the Court agree with you.
