name change for minors

I have two children that I have full custody of and who only have supervised visitation with their father at a YWCA once a month. I am getting married they would like to add my new name to the end of theirs is that possible in the state of mass?

I believe you need the consent of the biological father, his waiver or permission, or possibly an order of the court, if you cannot get consent.

It is permissible with court permission. However, it may not be allowed by the court. You should also question whether it is in the best interest of the children.
