Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

I want to change my son's last name to my last name, his father hasn't seen him in almost 2 years and hasn't paid child support in 9 months. I heard somewhere that all I need to do is post it in a local paper for a week then petition the court and pay a fee, is this true?

Joseph Murray Joseph M. Murray, Esq.

You should retain an attorney to file a contempt complaint to enforce the Child's right to receive the support order on which you would, by statute, be entitleld to receive interest and your attorney's fees.

Good Luck!
