Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts
Child custody Juristiction relocation
What are the laws pertaining to child custody juristiction relocation.
Are there legal steps I must take in order to relocate with my child from one state to another
(New York to Massachusetts) after winning a full custody case.
I appreciate your help thank you.

You must show an extremely valid reason
for the relocation, including inability
to find employment in the old locale, and
only in new locale, or major health concerns]
it cannot be merely for convenience
and the Court need not grant the request
because it disrupts visitation so drastically
it can also revamp visits to include all summer
all vacations and school breaks, with all
transportation expenses to be paid by the
moving party and to reduce child support

Just because you have full custody of your child does not mean you can move out of state. You should negotiate with the child's father. If he will consent, you can move. If he will not consent, you may have to go back to court.
The decision in your custody case may address relocation. If it does, then you must abide by the decision.
