According to child custody law, if gardianship is awarded is the minor still a ward of the court?

Hello,

The answer to your questions depends on who the guardian of the child is. If the court takes responsibiliy for the legal protection of the child than yes, the child is considered a ward of the state. However, if a relative or friend of the child has petitioned the court and has been awarded the guardianship by the court, than that child is not considered a ward of the state, but rather under the guardianship of the individual who petitioned the court.
