Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

I need help. My sons Mother has been battling legal custody with her parents who are basically using there position in the community to over rule everything. The court signed an order that our child is to stay either 3 days or 4 nights at his grandparents house. The days or nights are to be chosen by the childs mother. Here is the problem. My sons grandparents have him and my childs mother can not get him back. She has called the cops the last 2 days and both times the cops sided with her parents and said they didn't understand the court paper. The police are playing dumb because her father is capt. of the fire department and all of our local cops and higher officials are family friends. NEITHER OF US KNOW WHAT TO DO AND DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO GO GET AN ATTERNEY AND TAKE THIS HEAD ON. the previous lawyer resigned from the case after the last court date. Can someone please help me save a young mother from loosing her child. the family we are fighting against is putting on way to big of a front. i am extremly bothered and frustrated by this.

Re: child custody

She should return to court, and seek an order demanding that visits be suspended, and the children returned. This can be filed as a contempt, with a short-order of notice. She can also go to court and file her own criminal complaint with the clerk.
