child custody/child support

Hi i wanted to know once i leave my spuce how would child custody work as the mother? also mu kids father recieve ssi im only entiled too $ 221.00 a month due to what he recieve i heard i could get more your thoughts?

Child custody almost always goes to the mother initially, for a number of reasons. However, your case may vary.

Your support from this spouse would be minimal at best if he receives SSI.
