Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Child guardianship

My parents have legal guardianship of my 14 yr old son. they will not give him back willingly. my son was born premature and the insurance we had at the time would not cover the expences unless the baby was my dads legal dependent. i went to court and told the judge i did not think i could care for my son. I said that because my dads lawyer said the court would not give them guardianship just to get oveer on the insurance unless i said i coud not care for him. Now they wont give him back. i am a parent to him in everyway except legally. the oonly answer i get is my dad says he does not think i am mature enough to care for him. i get disability since 2002 and work part-time. i have been at my job for almost 5 years.

Re: Child guardianship

If you believe that you want to regain legal rights to your son, then ask the court to alter the guardianship.
