Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

child suport

If inlaws were paying for all our needs are they obligated to continue? I have 2 children one 5 and one 6. The 5 year old requies a lot of care.

If no is there a way to make him pay mor then $60. a week for child suport or his parents to pay at least rent

Re: child suport obligation by in-laws?

The payment by the inlaws is not a legal obligation. Apparently, the inlaws were generous to their grand children.

The legal burden is on the father. The inlaws can pay or not pay at will. There is no legal standing which you have to force them to pay anything.

Re: child suport

The in-laws are under no obligation to pay for anything. However if they are living with you then you may be able to evict them depending on ownership of the house. Child support is based on guidelines as it relates to the income of both you and the fathers.
