Re: child support

If you have a court order, then that must be enforced by means of a Complaint for Contempt. If you have no court order in place, you need to file a complaint (divorce, paternity) and ask for back support from the court.

If your child is no longer a minor, that could present complications.

Re: child support

You did not tell me if you were ever divorced, or was this a paternity action.

If there is an order which has been violated, then you can file a complaint for contempt. The court will issue a summons that must be served. Then the court will hold a hearing.

If there is no order, then you must petition the court for an order, and seek retroactive support.

This is a simplification. You are welcome to contact me with further questions, or for assistance.

Re: child support

Assuming that paternity has been established (not being disputed) or resolved in a divorce action, we could file suit on your behalf and that of your children who are entitled to the support. Contact me if you would like to review the details of your case.
