Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts
Child support in Massachusetts
I pay child support to my ex for my son who is a full time college student and lives at college. My ex move and there is no room for him to come home to so he moved in with me. How do I stop the garnishing of my wages? Do I have to go to court I cannot afford a lawyer at the present time. Thankyou

Re: Child support in Massachusetts
Massachusetts has just created new child support guidelines that give a lot of relief on orders relating to kids in college. The change isn't officially effective until January 1, so even though all the probate court judges are aware of it, you would not want to file your complaint for modification until then.
Re: Child support in Massachusetts
You file a request for modification with the probate court. Remember the money goes to support your child not your wife so the amount will not be completely removed. If you are going to undertake his full support for food clothing etc that is something different.
Good luck.

You must file a complaint for Modification or retain an attorney to do so for you.
