If a child moves to a new state
do the child support laws change according to the state in which the child resides?

CHildren do not move. Parent and children move. Jurisdiction for child support depends on the legal residence. For instance, if the parent and the child legally move to New Hampshire and reside there for about 6 months, then child related issues can and should be transferred to New Hampshire.
