My obligation has already been terminated.This is a scam to extort money from me

Your child support obligation does not terminate automatically on your child's 18th birthday. You must file a Complaint for modification asking the Court to terminate it upon proof that the child is emancipated. Good Luck!

In North Carolina, you may need to file a Motion to Terminate your obligation. It will largely depend on whether more than one child is affected and the specific terms of the Court Order.
