Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Child visitation

My ex-boyfriend has not seen the kids in 4 years and has now decided that he wants to be a part of their lives. He traumatized them by stopping visitations suddenly. He is a recovering drug addict. I have 2 concerns. I do not want him seeing the kids unsupervised and I do not want to be around him. Also I'm afraid he will be coming in and out of their lives causing more emotional trauma. How can I make this the last time he can come into their lives if he decides to use again or take off again?

Re: Child visitation

If he has a visitation order already, you should seek an order modifying it to require supervised visitation only. You may also want to seek a Guardian ad Litem if you can afford one.

If visitation is already restricted by court order or judgment, father must approach the court.

Re: Child visitation

It is up to him to make his case, it is up to you to make yours, and the court will decide.
