Re: childs name - ma

The answer is, unless legally changed her name is Jane Jones not Jane Jones Smith.

The Daughter can Petition to change her name to Jane Jones Smith at 18 and it is not likely to be denied.

Her father can object to the use of the name if he so desires. Legally, unless a court allowed for the change of name, she should use Jane Jones on all legal documents.
