Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

A close friend of mine was divorced in the State of NH and has lived in MA for several years now. Under NH law, a child can be emancipated at 18 or graduated from High School. Can she pursue child support under MA law, which extends through a child's college years?

Thanks in advance for any feedback on this matter.

Your friend can file in Massachusetts as long as the child has been here for at least six months. You should contact an attorney to review the previous judgment to determine whether or not the child is already emancipated.
