Contested divorce
Can the spouse who does not want the divorce contest everything to make it difficult and drain assets?

Of course he or she CAN do this. However, if it is obvious to the Court, he or she can ALSO be ordered to pay attorney's fees AND be granted less of the estate than he or she would otherwise receive.
Get an attorney who will take pains to document the unfair tactics, and do what you must to get the case on track and on a fair footing.

Yes, but every dollar that is wasted is one less dollar that might be split between you.
